Fundación Gigante—social arm of Grupo Gigante and Grupo Presidente—and Rainforest Alliance—an international non-governmental organization—joined efforts to build a more sustainable world, based on the social commitment to helping the most vulnerable communities in Mexico. This alliance has the objective of training, strengthening and working with small producers, in addition to reducing intermediaries in the supply chain. The SAFE Platform, Fundación Gigante , Grupo Restaurantero Gigante and Rainforest Alliance participate in this initiative. The project is divided into 2 phases: Alliance for sustainable landscapes and markets (with the support of USAID Mexico) Markets for a sustainable future This initiative will have an investment of more than 8 million 500 thousand pesos and will last 6 years.
